Come on this winter has been much much better than the last few. Where are the days on end of constant double-figure temperatures? Maybe one or two in December, but that’s all this year.  There has also been more snow this winter, at least here since 14-15.

it has been quite cold but barely any snow again, and cold without snow is a waste imo. 14/15 was poor for snow though, i managed a dusting at midnight which was all melted within 2 hours

What cold spell, I haven't had a frost.

Cold spell?

One frost...no snow...too much wind and enough rain to make the ground soggy and waterlogged again.

If thats cold zonality then shove it where the sun dont shine.

I agree that endless mild and wet is a depressing waste of a season that could offer much more but after the let downs of the last few weeks and this week in particular i’ll be happy with a period of zero expectations.

i’ve had enough of this potential to last a lifetime, spent every evening this week shovelling the damn stuff and there’s still more every time I look at the forecasts.

Not sure.. but it did snow in Florida the day before yesterday right to the coast in Pensacola.

I just made myself feel worse

Can’t say it’s been poor for snow falling/laying here so far but depth of snow and length of time snow on ground has been poor....the last four winters I have had a least six to eight inches of snow at one time.... not so far this winter....

Yes, it only hangs around if you've shoveled it into a pile. or built a snowman.

Never mind, I can always go to Chill Factor.

True but i’d sacrifice my joke winters for theirs if I could have a southern summer.

Other than on very high ground i think there is less difference in winter conditions throughout England than those in summer and as I get holder I clamber for heat more than I do cold.

It's the amount of time you invest in the build up, only to have the event in reality fall way below the pre-match hype.   The models initially toyed with an easterly before it was dropped and a screaming north westerly took it's place.  A chunk of the polar vortex will pay us a visit, -8 uppers, frequent heavy snow showers, 36cm snow depths on some accumulation charts....hmmm....

And it ended 0-0 after extra time.

Yep it happens every time and we still get sucked in to the hype.

maybe one day a decent wintry spell will just appear unannounced...........unlikely but we live in hope.
