Deep Snow please

A few light rogue wintry showers.  Promising flakes of snow in them, but far too light to cause anything but a passing interest.  A quick dust off the car before work and unless they come down really heavy it won't cause too many issues.

Nice big flakes.... pity not much on radar as conditions now great.... ho hum...

We had a covering earlier which has gone soggy on the roads. I think more of the same today as if it cant stay overnight, what chance during the day.

Indeed..... turns slushy between showers.... oh well... nice to see it falling but would be nice for a proper dumping...

Oh well....it’s a covering I guess....any how’s.... large strong coffee, cooking breakfast ? ? ? and woodburner lit.....

so far this winter had two amber warnings that gave a dusting, a yellow warning give 4-6 inches, and no warning where I’ve had 5-7cm.... and snow on the ground for ten days in total...

I wonder whether the metoffice warnings will be revised later? Wouldn't surprise me if they shrink the area to take out parts of the North West.

One has to assume that the pink is the rising sunshining on a showercloud.

Just had a light snow shower.. blink and you missed it..

As Northwest snow said, lets hope February delivers. It can be the coldest month and the Jet does seem to slow down a touch.

NW'ly winds are now becoming a major pain in the backside. If the winds come from the east the himalayas to our east block most Ppn. The only thing that works for our cursed region is a ScandI block with atlantic fronts trying to push in.

Fingers crossed

Or the rare fabled polar low which happens once in every 20 years.... But the way things are going we may never see a polar low again as even the Arctic upper air temperatures are no longer becoming conducive for the development of PLs. ?

Just had a driving lesson in the snow, very interesting! Roads getting covered quite quickly and hills are nice and white :)

The words 'clutching' and 'straws' do come to mind when hoping that February delivers with the current run of winters and being located in the north-west. I can't help but lean to towards the 'winter is over' statement for the majority of the region! :D

So there was an ever so slight not quite a covering but not quite a dusting (a coverusting?) this morning, snow obviously fell in a decent quantity last night for it to stick at all given how wet the ground was - that or the water iced up first. Just had a sleet/hail shower pass through which should probably be my signal to give up all hope with the milder uppers moving in over the weekend. I'll still be lamp-post twitching for the rest of the day.
