Looks like another streamer setting up.

I remember one Saturday morning in 2013 we had a thin excuse of a streamer like the one to the South of Manchester now and it gave my location 5 hours of heavy snow ?

0c and broken cloud here

You should be good to go now chris.

From now until saturday morning is the window of opportunity.

Euro4 has our best chance tomorrow evening.

Only had an inch overnight, topped up the two inches we had left from yesterday though. Seems like north cumbria has done better than here.  Snow looks nice and clean again though!

Yes we were just on the boundary between a lengthy spell of heavy snow, and the sleet/snow back to sleet combo, still we were on the right side of the boundary just for a cover. That's two snowfalls of more than 2 cms so far this winter, better than anything since winter 14/15.

Dry as a bone here with largely clear skies. Radar uninspiring, as are the EURO4 precipitation/snow predictions. Are we expecting to see an increase in showers at any point overnight?

There’s no rain in the showers anymore. That last one was complete hail and ice pellets. The cold uppers have arrived. It’ll be interesting from here onwards.

The heavy snow shower that dropped a couple of cm here just before tea time is a distant memory now.

nearly all of it has melted along with most of the bit that fell last night and temperatures are still at a balmy 2.5c.

Yes the forecast is looking promising for tomorrow but how many times have we said that this winter.

role on lighter nights and warmer weather.
