Is it on the turn or are the milder uppers yet to invade

I actually don’t know. I’m surprised it’s sleeting as the air temp is 3.2c. I thought the milder uppers are here until morning, but Chris said earlier that as the wind isn’t off the Irish Sea yet, the uppers won’t matter as much.

it started as pure rain, but can see the ice on the conservatory roof. It’s bouncing down too.

Just flew back from Amsterdam. It’s all snow until you exit the clouds, I took a video of billions of flakes in the flashing lights of the wings! So we missed out by 300/400m haha.

uppers are below zero until after 23:00.  Chance of sleet and snow to low levels if heavy precipitation continues up until that point.

Very common, melted snowflakes I think that have still got some shape.  A precursor to a change in precipitation type.

One of these events will actually deliver for crying out loud.

Thinking a nice February polar low getting stuck over us would be good.

Lot of rain so far tonight, wind has dropped this evening which is good as one of my dogs gets so stressed by it, she's  not eaten properly for 2 or 3 days, had her tea tonight thankfully.

Yeah very wet and sleety snow at 297m . All previous snow cover washed away with todays rain!

Not looking hopeful atm.

It was about 5/6C in Amsterdam and bitterly cold with strong winds. Liverpool airport at the moment and it feels mild!!!

Raining hard between Macc and Congy, wind not got up yet. Altitude required for snow I fear-ah well (again).
