Uppers are projected to be about +1/+2 for S NW England. There is no chance of snow to low levels.

1c drop in last hour or so. The -5c isotherm doesn’t seem to be coming back over us until 6am?

That doesn’t matter so much this evening but what happens tomorrow morning will be rain apart from high ground is wind is on-shore again.

Wind not nearly as strong on Thursday night so maybe a better chance of snow showers to lower levels then. We get -7 850s over usfor longer than tuesday as well.  Suggestion of another short-wave Friday on some models?

Joking aside, yes the region is cursed but I would love a scientific view of why our winters are going downhill. Yes back in the 70's and 80's we had events go pear shaped.

For me the last 30 years have really seen the change for the worse.. 2010 was a one off event that won't be seen again for some time.

We'll have a severe winter in the next 10 years...I'm convinced of it.

Sorry, as to why the 850’s won’t matter as much?

Bad times.

Man I'm feeling depressed today looking at the output. Think I've hit the point in winter where I wish spring would just hurry up.

The teleconnections have all taken a turn for the worse over the past few days. What was looking like a promising late Jan has just imploded into a situation that looks ripe for a +NAO.

Which part of 2010, lol? The January 2010 snowfall or the December snowfall and freeze?
