Metoffice forecast for tonight. Looks OK to me

This Evening and Tonight:

Tonight will see a mixture of clear spells and occasional snow showers. Some of the the showers will be heavy, and will lead to further snow accumulations, as well as icy stretches. It will be very windy, with coastal gales. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Blimey Kevin thats close to being brilliant.

What you make of ukmo? Only goes 24 to 48 but it doesnt look like the mild sector hits us..

It's quite a climb down from.previous forecasts that suggested frequent heavy wintry showers. Occasional showers suggests the Irish sea will remain fairly inactive.

Today we've had a few rain and hail showers. Here tomorrow night precipitation will be heavy rain. It will be interesting to see if the relative mildness of the low pressure avoids more eastern areas of the region

Yes, but it only includes the word 'snow'. No suggestion of sleet or wintry mix.

It is so tantalisingly close. A few more minor shifts South required!

If it doesn't happen tonight it never will...I've got the heavy snow graphic right through from 5pm to 5am tomorrow.  It's just a case of how organised the showers will be.  One persons streamer is another person's near miss 5 miles up the road.

That's the best so far! I don't want to see any more corrections south unless it is for a few miles only.

Anything that falls tonight will be snow, last shower dropped off a decent dusting on tarmac and the soaked grass.

Just need enough precipitation to top that up to at least a covering and I'll class this as an event.

It's not a joke no.. the showers have been quite infrequent today but inland areas have seen convective development as the showers headed inland

Just finished work. I saw gritters just gritted the bus station in Chorley.  I like the models still shifting the low south!! :)
