If you like snow clearly you gotta get out of this hell hole of a region.

...we're trying - it's on the cards.

The flow veers another 15° before midnight So any streamers that form should gradually move southward.

Still to far north for Lancaster southwards.

Couple more runs for it to move though.

Let's see if it's actually cold enough for it to snow tonight before worrying about tomorrow though.

I think for those inland areas it might be and of course places with elevation but if your near the coast then it looks unlikely but would not rule out fully.

No idea how the shower activity will develop as its all very random so some places will get more lucky than others. The beeb forecast suggest something more persistent might head down tonight also so one to watch.

Back home after day at work outdoors...a couple of beefy wintry showers that left a temporary white covering, but soon melted with traffic.  Might be more promising overnight as temps drop.  Think Thursdays low might give snow to Cumbria at the moment.

Just to give some perspective on the visibility difference...

Yes - remember looking for whats left of the Station once - not much -  camped many a time at Bowmansted and had some legendary nights out In the Sun and Crown.

Ha! aye you'll have camped at Coniston Hall or maybe even Spoon Hall? Sun's my local, although the Ship is pretty good!
Tend not to go down into the village quite so much now as it's uphill with eleventeen pints of milk of amnesia on board!

Where our houses are now, used to be just wasteland when I was a nipper, so we used it as a playground until the houses were built in 1981/2.

There's effectively nowt left of the station as such, but some of the bridges are still there and what is now the car park was the slate wharfe.

Thanks Snow free zone, not able to check out what's happening - but that is a typical streamer when WNW wind.

Sort of: Fylde Coast - Preston/Chorley - Blackburn/North Bolton - Rossendale/North Bury - Hebden/Rochdale and then into the Pennines.

Often get another streamer further south into Manchester - Stockport/Glossop/Buxton kind of area.

Or you get lines of showers (troughs) perpendicular to the flow which effect all, with gaps between

We just need to see what develops.  Shower distribution always hard to predict.

Then of course need to worry about whether it is cold enough!!

And guess where is between the two?   :wallbash:
