Still rain in Heswall but I notice turning to sleet towards Birkenhead .. colder upper gradually having an effect further west.

bored.

just had a proper look at this

2-6 cm of snow is likely in places, especially on higher ground above 100-200 m, where a few places in the Pennines and upland Wales may see more than 10 cm. A slushy cover of 1 to 3 cm seems more likely at lower levels and closer to the western coasts, as well as across most of southern England, with some areas here seeing very little or no snow. Drifting may occur on cross-Pennine routes in the strong to gale force winds.

so high ground may get a massive 2cm!!

I'm at low level so I may be expecting 1-3cm of slush or 'very little or 'no' snow!

I'm edging towards this being a bust!!!

Slightly disappointing to have a rain shower at 180m . I do have faith in the more knowledgeable ones in here that believe the afternoon is the start of the fun and games.

In regard to the low tomorrow, obviously a hopecast but I wouldn't be surprised of more corrections southwards. It was happening with the famous sliding low right until its arrival.

and after almost half an hour of trying, like I said getting its act together a bit - just starting to settle and normally I can see Grizedale Forest about a mile away over the lake - visibility now approx. 1/4 mile max...

total whiteout here, cannot see across the valley.  Showers becoming more organised in the irish sea, not just vanishing when they leave Ireland.  We've had one lightening flash in the last shower and this one is looking more like 100 % snow.  As I type another roll of thunder.  It is settling sort of, and looks snowy on the grass etc.

I knew this would happen where the showers were weak as they hit the coast bit developed more as they headed inland. It's like a summer pattern almost

Had a small hail shower with slight sleetiness on the background. Today has been a major dissapointment on a convective point of view, far too messy skies and barely any showers to speak of.

Coldest uppers of this spell is approaching now so between now and the next 12 hours or so is the time for it to deliver for the region.

White stuff just been falling from the sky - somewhere between massive graupel pellets and dry snow. Short lived but promising.

To be fair this is the first shower for a couple of hours but yes all Rain All the showers seem to be north of the Airport

Looks as though those shows are banded together into an organised clump on the radar headed for the M6 corridor. Lancaster down to Liverpool could see decent snow in the next few hours.

are we in a WSW flow here, the showers appear to be heading ever so slightly north, if so is this meant to change?

Hills around here are white, but that's about it. Temporary covering of hail/wet snow every now and again at my level.
