2018 Arizona Monsoon Tour

I've signed up to go on this tour starting and finishing in Phoenix, Arizona. As the start date is a Tuesday I have taken all that week off work so may well look to fly out on the Saturday.

It seems flights to Phoenix are quite expensive. Paul has suggested that he will fly to LA (Norwegian Airlines) and then get an internal flight. I have had a quick look at that option and it is still quite pricey.

Will do some further checks but may loo at flying to Las Vegas and driving to at least get an opportunity to explore.

 

Would be good to get some ideas in this thread

Same boat here. Cheapest I've seen is £1041 return. Driving sounds like fun though!

I'm considering doing this and would probably opt for the Vegas route.

As Nick says the flight to Vegas on Virgin is quite cheap and the drive down through Kingman and Lake Havasau (Where the Original London Bridge is) is very scenic and great things to explore on the way. Believe it or not Vegas is only about 350 miles from Phoenix

Stop off at the Hoover Dam too! Going to wait and see what my bonus is this year ?

And you can drive the moki dugway just off from Mexican hat of monument valley road  great fun in monsoon in epic scenery,just be careful in the slot canyons.

Forgot I'll be there this year too starting in Tusayan south rim Grand Canyon heading east

I'm booked on!  Going to do a bit of a complicated but much cheaper route via Dublin.

I've booked the same flight from Dublin to Phoenix and back as Nick. Have also booked flights from Stansted to Dublin.

Only challenge now is getting to Stansted on Sunday - trains are apparently not running on Sundays. Either way it's a major saving from taking the Heathrow direct flight

What flights did you choose? I looked at Phoenix via LHR but its £850 ish. Dubline to Phoenix is about £395?

Me and Stuart are doing Dublin to Phoenix on 30th July, getting to Dublin the day before. Book through Expedia if you do that because it costs way more on BA. Outward flight leaves Dublin at 10:45 and arrives in Phoenix at 17:35.
