Well it has been hyped so much that anything other than ice days and snow cover, will be a let down

hopefully you don't mean the dress.

Just looking at the latest fax charts and the front on Saturday doesn’t even look like making it to our neck of the woods before moving back west.

The cold to the east must be one hell of a block and that’s before the fun and games begin!

Yeah I'd be surprised if it made it past the Midlands, I think the GFS is being overly progressive with the Eastern extent

I agree! It may well stay dry here with any precipitation not making it further east than Wiltshire.

I suspect that'll be the case, yeah. Our fun begins Monday I think once we have the cold air in place and see winds veer more Easterly, showers will start to form. Hopefully we can get a few hours of decently heavy snow

Talking about London in particular, do we only get snow from the east or can it come from the west.

We can get it from all directions up from the south is rare but not unheard of. Snow off the east largely showers we can get organised snowfall coming west to east been a while since that..

According to the ECM snow depth charts, by the end of the day tomorrow some areas are going to have 3" of snow on the ground

Somewhat unlikely given that I can't see where the snow is supposed to even be coming from?

Hi sharp, I can’t say however there is a very strong single for significant snowfall on the 6th I guess there is a threat with the very cold air where we are, the progression east of front might be too much.

Somewhat unlikely is an understatement. Strange it had snow for me this morning maybe that is actually more believable some in East Anglia did have some snow overnight. It’s off on one.

If ECM is to be believed this region of precip going S/SE.

It’s too warm paramters give a chance of snow very marginal however nothing that would settle. Possibly in heavier stuff it might be sleety it’s the temps that are main obstacle..
