Last I heard the BBC are still using the MO for their forecasts and will be until at least March as meteogroup still aren't ready to take over, delays, much like our forecasts of easterlies

That’s correct. BBC are still using MO

Exactly and what I’ve been saying for several days.

I do agree that the second half of Feb or sooner will be winter proper, with the Atlantic held well back.

I’m so confident of a cold spell then and very excited by it. Next week is bog standard. Yes, nice to be colder, but far from special.

Temp dropped from 4.2 at 6pm and currently at 1.3 but looked outside and sky seems fairly clear atm with quite a few stars evident.Need a slight wind direction change for this neck of the woods eo a ENE wind if we are to see anything here but i dont think showers (if they arrive here) are due to arrive till about 3-4am tomorrow morning anyway. It's a waiting game folks and tbh only likely to affect Essex,Kent and East Sussex if the Forecasts are correct

Localised areas will have some good snowfalls, but mark my words, mid Feb onwards will deliver the goods

I do hope so, I used to get my snow fix yearly in Chamonix, but more creaky now and want a snow fix closer to home; fingers crossed!

I haven’t posted on here for a long time! But what will be will be. Keep looking at the radars, if it’s white it the morning great, if it’s not there is still plenty of time for this to evolve during the up coming week.

Those were great NW days..... Chris is much missed.. So sorry to hear you've had such a difficult couple of years, Tom, and great to hear that you are getting back to your old self. Great to see some old faces on here tonight - hopefully we can reunite over a bit of the white stuff!

That ship has sailed.

I think we both know the best chances are from mid month onwards, perhaps a little earlier.

Not strictly true. Country file forecast said the biggest chance of snow is on Friday but it’s way too far out to call yet. Agree about mid month onwards though.
