What’s everyone’s temps and DP ? Mine is currently at temp 4.9 and DP 1.1 , it’s not budging much either

4.6 just along the coast in Shoreham. 1,0. Temp is dropping quite quickly now.

I’m wondering if the occlusion over the continent has fragmented, or will influence the snow area in the south east.

Without an easterly flow, or frontal influence, I’m unlikely to see much here.

To be fair you are almost in the wrong thread ;)

I wouldn’t be too despondent if you aren’t seeing showers at the moment as they aren’t snow, just sleet or graupel.

Hoping they turn more wintry later!

My friend is a gritter driver in Medway so I asked him how much snow they are expecting. His reply was that he was just about to go out to kill the two flakes that they are expecting. Wait and see I suppose.

Just had some very dark cloud come over here in Walthamstow something light was falling but couldn't make out what it was.

Up the road from you in Chingford. Dark, heavy clouds now but no shower activity anywhere near us at the moment unfortunately. If we do see anything it’s likely to be much later in the night and towards dawn.

Only joking-

I think once the flow aligns east west the showers should work through!

Hopefully they will

Just back from a drive to Beachy Head and Birling Gap during which I encountered occasional light showers of rain and temperatures on the car thermo ranging from 3-5c.

The occasional sunny spells were tempered by a chilly breeze but overall a very reasonable winters day.

Oh my days you are right close to where I live  I am currently at Walthamstow Central station. People must have thought I was mad seeing me gazing at the lamp posts lol that very dark cloud seems to have drifted past but there was definitely something that fell from it

fingers crossed for later tonight all the best ????

The showers to the west are dying out now....maybe they developed with some aid from thermal heating.

Those in Kent are looking better with more showers developing over the North Sea.

Winds are mostly between N, NNE and NE this afternoon/evening, which normally seems to favour a Kent streamer and also scatterd showers feeding SW from the Wash over E Midlands, northern and western Home Counties. but  in the morning we should see snow showers penetrating further inland across London area and parts of E Anglia as well, as an occluded front moves west and winds turn more ENEly.

The silence in the MOD thread says it all about the cold spell next week.

Yes, we’ll get some snow early on, but this is turning into a damp squib, unless there’s a huge upgrade.

I think the real cold will come mid month onward.

Looking great for mid month on the 12z.:shok:
