In Great Ryburgh, North Norfolk.

Temp -0.9

Dew point -4.4

A little dusting earlier today

You should be in for some steady snow shortly. Keep an eye on the radar.

On the radar it’s says it’s snowing in Hastings, just asked my sister who tells me it’s not. How accurate is the radar. There is definitely precipitation headed that way I checked on two other radars

it's snowing here, only flurries though.

It's very light/patchy so either it's evaporating before it's reaching the ground or there's a lot of anaprop

I find the netweather radar can give false echoes as I've often been under snow when nothing at all is falling

Isn’t it due to the very dry air, and the cloud base being a lot higher up.

Hi good evening all hope you all had a great day. I just left Milton Keynes heading back to London and I can say it had just started to snow. Not heavy snow but it was coming down in flurries.

it is all nail biting now I wonder if my area Walthamstow N/E London will be lucky enough to get a covering. I have waited since Sunday for a white surprise and I hope it's lucky night tonight.

Looks as if by Thursday Friday temperatures could edge up. Not looking forward to that.

Anyway best of luck for tonight I know I will definitely be lamp watching. Wishing you all a lovely evening.

Regards ????

Another radar gives nearly the same position could they both be wrong

It is anaprop which is a contrast between temperature and humidity, which affects the radar and  gives false readings sometimes, but look for the stronger colours when looking at radar, they are almost certainly not anaprop.

Spectacular that regardless of it being later in the winter. That would deliver for us!

Hardly any snow for the SE on that chart..

I'd hate to have to endure that cold without any snow.

It’s possibly evaporating before it reaches the ground. Quite common I believe if the precipitation isn’t very heavy.

Left work to a few snow flurries and 2c. Got home up the hill to find 1c and yesterday morning’s snow still in the shady bits and a few flurries also (which have now stopped).

Hoping for one of the blobs to come this way! Fingers crossed for everyone :)

Not liking the way they have the cities plastered all over the graphics, you can't really see whats going on in Kent/Essex due to London blocking everything out.

  • Chilly with an increasing risk of frost

Once Monday's band of rain fades, the next few days will be drier. However, it will feel cool, even cold, in the breeze or under gloomy skies, with an increasing risk of frost. Read the full update here

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
