Winters back on!...according to gfs 12z. Careful what you say if you go into the MOD thread, some take it all very seriously but at the moment it's all a bit of a giggle. :)

Like the way the setting sun was catching this cumulonimbus cloud east of Heathrow just recently

2 hous of polystyrene balls alternating with light snow, now 2 deg but feels colder. Think we're in for some icy roads in the morning!

Recent sleet/snow/graupel showers in Hastings/St Leonards-on-Sea. Temperature on the car thermometer dropped from 8c to 3c in 5 minutes. Also picked up sferics on the car radio from lightning across The Channel in the Le Touquet area.

Incredibly frustrating today been dry series of showers lined up too south or too north. :(

However I spot a blob with my name on it!

After a nice heavy shower of sleet and hail that gave us a slight dusting earlier we have just had a nice heavy snow shower nice big flakes lovely to see very cold here on the coast on the Isle of Sheppey.

Exactly the sake here, I'm just a bit further east from you on the Thames, parts of Essex and SE Kent could well have a covering of white once them heavy showers have all gone through.

If we can keep these showers through the evening, I wouldn't rule out the merest of coverings tomorrow morning. Feeling a couple of degrees colder in the last hour, not quite enough for the last two showers to settle mind. Impressive day for weather watching, mild and sunny to start and then from about 1:30pm we've had hail and graupel showers interspersed with sunshine. Great to see some decent wintery PPN, even if it was never going to settle at sea level.

Do you think you could solve this riddle...it's very tough grrrr...

My 1st name means I can be male or female but I'm confused.

I wear my coat of arms with pride.

Everyone of us has a unique coat of arms.

Please don't make a hat out of me.

I can sing I'm not artificial.

Please welcome me with an open door not a round one.

You all named me wrong. You were too early! Il never forgive you.

Catch me if you can!

I’m struggling here, is it weather related or have i missed an obvious joke? Something to do with ssw’s polar wotsits, snow..?!!

Heavy graupel/sleet/snow/rain/hail. Basically everything that can fall out of the sky has done in the past few minutes
