Thanks AlexisJ9,

anyone care to to explain the significance of Steve’s post

It suggests the polar vortex will be unable to recover a knock out punch possibly. HLB is likely to feature for some time increasing greatly the chance of cold conditions locking in.

Hi peeps I am back looks like a slight upgrade for us on the latest metoffice update.

London & South East England

Headline:

Rain clearing overnight. Cold, bright and breezy Sunday.

This Evening and Tonight:

Relatively mild, but breezy and wet during the evening, with a band of rain slowly clearing eastwards. Becoming drier but colder into the early hours, with a brisk northwesterly wind perhaps bringing the odd fleeting sleet or snow flurry. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday:

A cold but bright and blustery day with lengthy sunny periods. A few snow flurries remain possible, these mainly in the northwest, with slight accumulations possible in places. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cold and often windy. Mainly fine with isolated snow flurries Monday, giving way to squally rain and perhaps sleet Tuesday. Wednesday starting fine, but becoming wet and windy later.

Updated: 14:15 on Sat 10 Feb 2018 GMT

the word accumulations has appeared for tomorrow different to what it was this morning.

According to this may even see a flurry later tonight.

Regards ????

He thinks the vortex will not reform, so cold could be quite prevalent from late Feb and march in general.

The capital has a 95% chance of snow tomorrow according to GEFS it is likely snow flurries will reach us. What interests me more is Tuesday, a large precipitation spark and a fair bit of support for snowfall.

Yet another truly dismal Saturday here since early afternoon. Cold, wet and windy. It continues the run of poor Saturdays since the start of the year hereabouts.

Not looking too bad for tomorrows Umbrella Parade along the seafront in Hastings though, part of the 'Fat Tuesday' celebrations taking place over the next few days.

So the ecm isnt having anything to do with the ssw, whats the betting its right, seems if it can go wrong,it will go wrong,I hope not, think us in the south-east,are more than deserving of a decent snow fall or 6,and if anybody begrudges us,then they're smelly poo faced gits

I had no idea that we celebrated fat Tuesday anywhere in the UK, is that the start or the end of carnival?

Hastings likes nothing more than any excuse to dress up, throw a party and celebrate any event throughout the year :)

The met office aren't so keen but I notice that temps have been tending down for Tuesday so just maybe. Their forecast Friday morning mentioned rain or snow for Tuesday but only rain or sleet since. Maybe the morning forecast will mention snow again.

Lol, it's shrove Tuesday already, sound like a very early Easter this year, may be a snowy one.
