I have returned from a long session of stargazing. Crystal clear skies and light winds mean the temperature has fallen considerably. My hands are numb from the windchill, but it was worth it. If we don't get snow, there will still be a sharp frost.

I'm off now back in the morning, was nice to see a few fluries today, even have about a milimetre of accumulation in places lol. Hope to wake up to more, looks unlikely though.

Finally (for me at least) The Wash is starting to get convective and a band of showers is beginning to head towards the London area.

Nice!
I just noticed that the DP is now +0.1ºc here and the temp up to 1.2c!!  There must be a warm sector passing through at the moment, just as the ppn is showing signs of arriving. Grrr

On the plus side, at least the ppn is beginning to build again... Such a shame that everyone has gone to bed in a huff! :D

Had a few sprinkly flurries at about 9pm which showed a tiny covering on car roofs, then at 11.30pm ish radar showed a slightly heavier return and produced a bit more but not much, as can be seen in pics. All looking as if sprinkles may pop up elsewhere now, so hoping others get the joy of a few flakes falling leaving things looking pretty for a few hours  Temp -0.7c /Dewpoint -1.5c

Wind is all over the place, it was a NNW 'ly when I last had a flurry but right now weather station is showing as a dreaded SW'ly :80:

Thanks! Just waiting up to see a few flakes. It's looking better now than it did 30 mins ago, so hopefully the temps won't keep rising here. Now hovering at 0c DP and temp of 1.1ºc.

I was just looking at the wind direction over your way and it does seem that you are right, it is blowing everywhere from a SW'ly to an E'ly.

And thanks for the fingers crossed... I need all the help possible! :D

We have light snow in Sevenoaks, for the last half an hour or so..

It looks like you will be in one of the prime spots for whatever snow we get tonight. I am just that little bit too far West for anything other than a few flakes, which I am determined to see! :D

That 2nd blob on the left cruising over Luton might swing your way if it peps up a bit :D

Looks like Chelmsford and then East London are just about to get a direct hit from that ever increasing blob!
