Where abouts do you think they will merge?

Energy levels are high which means when you think the PPN is dispersing, it peps up again. I expect intensification within 01:00 - 07:00 hrs +/-

The radars will not pick this up so ive introduced sat..motion imagery..

Note southern/western side- tip norway precip spike...into the flow...could be the static punch for large scale precip pep!!!!

Lots going on!!!

For those worrying about the snow fizzling over land, look West. There's a band of snow in the middle of the country that doesn't seem to have any issues sustaining itself, that's further South than most models predicted, so there's some hope in that..

The front pulling Southwards should pull the snow Southwards with it, admittedly the further South you are, the less hopeful I'd be but all is certainly not lost, as long as we have the snow backbuilding then there's no problem

OK, I`ll go with you on this one but I`m far from convinced.

Well friday has a little interest at the moment

Friday has been my interest for days, that could make tonight look ridiculous.

Agreed but doesn`t need much modding. Even if rain to snow, I`ll take that as it looks heavy.

Latest FAX chart for Friday is of interest, actually

Warm front so it'll definitely be rain initially followed swiftly by a cold front and the 528DAM sweeping in, possibility for back edge snow if the cold can undercut fast enough, below freezing dew points behind too, so perhaps an event similar to January last year?

Radar watchers, turn off your precipitation type i.e. pink / snow and look at the intensity of the rain, chasing rainbows here folks for anything noteworthy.

APERGE at the moment has 0 interest in anything other than rain

Given the timeframe though, there's plenty of time for things to change, as you say it wouldn't take much. Anyway, bed time for me - Hope you all get some snow tonight, night all

Temperature-wise, all I've been able to find suggests that Friday's max could be anywhere between about 4 and 7C. Hardly what I'd call exciting.:cc_confused:

The precip is dying as soon as it touches the coast.

But Ed, if the front comes through early hours of Fri morning (5am) then we could have some fun.
