Just out of interest, and I have most of them, which would you say is your favourite weather app and which has been the most reliable this winter?

Accuweather keeps telling me that it will snow in 5 minutes and so far no snow has materialised which is v annoying!

Outside, the sky was almost brown

The clouds were hanging low.

Then all of a sudden it happened:

The air was full of snow.

The children rushed to the windows.

The teacher let them go,

Though she teased them for their foolishness.

After all, it was only snow.

It was only snow that was falling,

Only out of the sky,

Only onto the turning earth

Before the blink of an eye.

What else could it do from up here,

But fall in its usual way?

It was only weather, really.

What else could you say?

The teacher sat at her desk

Putting ticks in a little row,

While the children stared through the steamy glass

At the only snow.

always loved this poem.

I thought you wrote it

I use Carrot.. It notifies you when there's rain/snow near you and comes with it's own "snark" as part of the forecasts which I find quite amusing, it's topical too

I assume, you are joking!! I would be gobsmacked, if many parts of the SE, failed to get a decent snowfall, from a synoptic set-up, like that! As it's so far ahead, pointless arguing about it, anyway.

Sorry, this is the chart, D.V.R., was commenting on but way out in the far reaches of F.I.

Regards,

Tom.

In that chart the lack of sea track is the killer for us at that point, NE England and eastern Scotland have showers piling in, that said the pattern would likely see something significant push in from the continent with prologed outbreaks of snow at some point. Still no pint getting carried away by charts that far away though I sense that there will be many like this over the coming days.

I use Netweather radar and forecasts, forget your phone telling you what's happening. The window is always good too! ;)

Consensus now is nothing to reach Medway from Beeb and METO. Looks like a non starter for us, good luck EA!

You only have to look at radar and the way nature kills ppn inland in these type of events.

Norfolk best place to be tonight for a ‘possible’ accumulation

I’m sure the forecasts have been saying that the front will pep up over the south east not before it

Correct. We should see some building of ppn shortly. Already some signs of that in the last 10 mins as ppn is building slowly just to the North of London ahead of the front.

Snow tonight, don`t get too hung up on it folks, well for inland Essex by the looks of it. Yellow warning? bad call. The band moving in from the Wash to me looks like tracking more SSE from  an earlier SSW so Norfolk/Suffolk would probably get a covering but my straws here in NW Essex are shortly being tossed in the bin.

Anybody in the triangle, Pete etc? Looking at radars...any thoughts on if the front will make it this far E as it comes down or maybe we miss out if it goes S or SSW? As you said earlier Pete, don't want to be greedy and happy to share :cold-emoji:

Have a good healthy cm outside everywhere still, with a little melt on pavements.

Good luck to you all ! All the best :yahoo:

It may have wiggle room yet?!wind flow is a tad 2 north/north westerly over most region..

Temps/dew etc no problem!!

The decaying could have a last hurrah as it grabs a little energy pasing through the wash... and gather  more s-westerly track as progression gathers!??..with any oomph-pep a possibility...

Had the wind still been of a more easterly bias...we could have been talking major snow event for our part..as can be viewed on french sat...with the system keen for our shores.....

But unfortunatly sods law 'again' laughs in our south-eastern faces....

Still worth one eye on the radar for developing incoming.. some will certainly get accums...

If the incoming shower activity gains...its not unusual for things to quickly develop..and change track...

Some intresting watching!!!!

Have to admit, the band now looks like coming back ssw which considering it is fighting a W wind flow could mean it has some substance about it. Ok straws back out of the bin here... Can`t believe in this setup we are scratching around but ok, see what happens.
