That convection looks like it’s dying as it’s travelling south, seemed like it was kicked off by some convergence of the cold dry air and some moisture ahead the front. Hopeful of seeing something later though

I think the wash might aid the front a bit, like mentioned yesterday we are all guessing at the moment

Is there a chance that any will head in to low south of the region even this evening?

Not forecast to do so,but keep an eye on the radar, you never know,if it does, dont expect anything major,I think a dusting at best is all we can hope for

Veil of high stratus that was giving patchy light flurrys ahead of the front evaporating fast on sat24 imagery, this could now lead to some better convection breaking out over the North sea which could be where the talk of hail, snow and thunder comes from across EA.

Just about to take a walk, with the wife, down to Chislehurst High St, for a trim and some provisions, from Sainsbugs.

Will that ppn, over Suffolk/Essex, hold together and make it soith of the Thames, to here, here's hoping.:cold:

Will report back later.

Regards,

Tom.

What was the large blob in Norfolk earlier and heading SSW is decaying rapidly by the look of it. I don't think it will reach reach the London area.

Agreed looks like we now waiting or the front to approach later now. Seems like the air is so dry it’s sucking the life out any precipitation at the moment

Still it looks like some people had a nice surprise this morning just goes to show the old adage of ‘get the cold in first...’ is very pertinent right now.

Well the ‘blob’ has broken up leaving a somewhat crystal clear day here

current temp 1.5c- Expecting the maxima at 3.5 ish-

Tonight is really a now cast- but with the PPN coming in late / overnight then ahead of this we should have widespread sub zero temps so good preperation !

Im aiming for zero ~7-8pm tonight ...

Snow and Ice warning extended to cover mid and east Kent and Essex :) MetO showing light snow between 5pm and 8pm for Ashford tonight and then heavy snow changing to light snow between 3am and 9am tomorrow morning :)

I have a feeling we'll see more than yesterday!

I don't think they are so keen to put any numbers on accumulations like yesterday, that could be a good thing.

It’s tracking south - / SSW

Still have an east north east wind here so that will change, wonder where the convergence is, that area could really do well.

Edit sounds like it's died.

Nice snow pellet shower here on the East Norfolk Coast. Nice quick dusting.

Road has already melted the snow, but laying on cars and grass.

I'd say they expect less than the other night as they state 'small accumulations possible' - will be interesting to see if any amounts start appear nearer the time.
