The showers are beginning to gain in intensity, would be great for the wind to shift to a ENE'ly and a few more of us could see some snowfall. At the moment it is SE and South Kent, plus the far SE of East Sussex getting all the ppn. Convection seems good, just need that wind to shift a bit!

The ENE winds are currently largely offshore - they will be with us especially from Monday morning.

6am looks to be when they shift perfectly for a Thames streamer.

That shower train in the channel is such a waste, had a heavy snow shower 30 mins ago,and looking at the radar should have another fairly soon

Going by the amount of grit and salt on the road the council is obviously expecting some snow and ice tonight. The centre of Heathfield had more sand and grit on the road than the car park at Camber Sands. Probably a good call though, it was snowing pretty heavily at times and between the showers the skies are clear and its well below freezing. Whatever does fall overnight should still be there come the morning. Looking forward to drawing the curtains in the morning.

Just got back from East of Heathfield, it's quite intense but very localised showers at the moment. I went from clear skies and nothing to small flakes but dense heavy snowfall within about 400yds. Had to slow down to about 30mph just because of the visibility. Back home in Blackboys now and there's nothing at all here.

Pretty localised these shower trains, one place will hit the jack pot and be stuck under a conveyor of showers while just down the road it’s dry and starry skies.

So a snow machine that don’t snow either

south East’s luck

Yes thats exactly what I thought.

Anyway, massive EURO4 upgrade, we have a big snow blob now moving towards London, a lot further west and much bigger than it was earlier. This could be a Thames Streamer after all, wind dirrection looks right too.:yahoo:

Oh, and they are definitely underestimating PPN too @ 06h which is now.

Great analogy, I was using fogs and full beam just for the entertainment value at times. Didn't help me see and better but looks so cool :-)

The snow started about 1 mile East of Heathfield on the Dallington road. Even the road was white within about 3 minutes of it starting.

Yes quite agree will probably be different tomorrow., but that area of snow that is showing up over France on Tuesday has really caught my eye can we get some adjustments. My wishful thinking ??

Yes a few of us have had our eye on that French snow, would have loved a bit of that coming our way.:)

Showers are now slowly beginning to clip the Suffolk and N Essex coast.

Been snowing quite steadily for a while in Hailsham but nothing settling yet. Need another one degree drop in temperature I reckon.

Looked out 10 minutes ago and still wet and only shed roof white, heard what sounded like rain and looked out again and there a light covering now!
