Sorry to pee on your french fries, but that isn't the mean for 360!  It's the control run, this is the 360 mean

Snow is over hyped in mad thread  ! It’s like you get the huge ramp waiting for the boom .... and like a limp lettuce your let down .... it’s cold but least it will be sunny so the bbc says ;)

They will always over ramp in the MOD thread. I’m no expert, but understand the charts and patterns. That’s why I don’t get carried away until we reach the reliable timeframe.

Yes! We will see very cold easterly winds from mid month. Glosea is on board and Glosea was the first model to predict this cold spell. That’s enough for me

The shower train is of similar intensity of 2009- Once it transitions to snow it could ge exciting-

I was a bit frustrated at 430 when the temp was 3.6c however now we’re down @1.8c - be happier when it gets sub 1c

Shower train looking good

Lucky you, my blinking thermometer now reads 2.4 swear it was 2.1 half an hour ago, I guess that’s being 50asl for you.

I’m a bit obsessed with the Mod thread. Talk about chasing the pot of gold. They all discuss models which are 10 days away (and therefore statistically no better than a coin toss) and because they suggest snow suddenly it’s due to become a snow event like one never seen before. Then it moves a bit closer to D Day and as the models leasen the impact (which they do every EVERY time) and the board falls into chaos.

What exactly are they all hoping for? Just seems to the forum equivalent of purgatory!  Makes for great reading :0)

No problem, it's still nice to look at and is not too dissimilar from the GFS run at the same time....!

I’ve had a balanced approach throughout. Watching the trends showed this spell was going to be a normal winter cold spell. I was bashed for saying it, but look where we are now. I always think a balanced and more measured approach is better.

That doesn’t mean we won’t see surprises over the next few days, but overall quite expected for a cold spell
