Yes, that Snow Cup thing, seemed to jinx our snow chances!! Had a brain haemorrhage/stroke, in Sept.2015, so absolutely no chance of me, engaging in that again, you'll be pleased to hear!! Although, I feel a lot better, still feel very fatigued, at times. The Snow Cup, was probably why my brain, blew up, in the first place!!:D Really did put a lot of work, into that.

Regards,

Tom:hi:

I remember it well! You did great with that my friend. It was a good bit of fun. Glad to hear you’re well!??

Woken up and watched three short Hail showers pass over. Deal is always marginal as it sits in a divot in the higher chalk downs and is right on the east coast.. usually a couple of miles inland will be coated. Looking forward to the next 48h. Good luck snowfolk.

Deal is always marginal as it sits in a divot.. You mean a valley.. Or up north a Dale..divot is what you take out with a golf club isn't it.. ? ?.. Anyway you won't ever get snow.. To near Walmer ?

Does Great Yarmouth fall under this thread? Just on a short break with my girlfriend for the weekend and it's bitterly cold here and I was hoping to see some snow showers but we currently have rain falling  damn it!

Hi snowbob, Thanks very much. for your kind words and lewis028, too.

Although my memory, was badly affected, by the b/h and stroke, I do have vague recollections, of you dead-heating, with Lottiekent, am I right?

Tom. :hi:

Cool. Upper Belvedere is higher up than here, not sure but 50-60m asl sounds about right, it can be sleet/wet snow in lower Belvedere and settling snow up the top.:)

If it snow's up here, I will be shouting from the top of the hill!  :yahoo:

Had a couple of showers which had a mix of rain/sleet and snow. Nothing of any real note and now the cloud is tended to break up more.

Good to see a MetO upgrade for West Kent, with snow now forecast to start earlier tonight and the heavy snow symbol now showing for the first time tomorrow.... hoping our puppy gets to see the white stuff for the first time....

Just an aside, from Feb 2009, a couple of charts:

AVN_1_2009020200_1.png

The perfect ENE alignment, for a Thames Streamer. And bitterly cold, snow-making, upper air.

Sorry, for the size of those charts. My memory, has deserted me, happens quite a lot and I've forgotten, how to post, thumbnail charts.

Tom.

Just woken up,yes I know its late, its sunday though, and if it was good enough for the big man to take a day off and rest, who am I to argue, anyway, opened the blind on the velux,to find an icy layer on the bottom of it,im in all day today,so hoping for a few hefty snow showers in northiam,70m asl as well, and im at the highest point around, icey stuff is melting fast though,so I take it temps and dew points etc are still a bit too high at the moment

I like the fact you think 9.30 is late to be getting up, on my days off I sometimes sleep in until gone 11  I do try to avoid that though, if I'm not up by 9 I feel like I've wasted an entire morning.

Ben Rich's BBC weather forecast on the news channel has just shown the showers intensifying at around 6pm with showers falling most as snow by this point were his words.

He also said a real potential for some problems here...
