Suffolk and Essex look to be getting something soon as the band intensifying nicely... What will fall is yet to be seen.

Is there anyone in the Cambridge/Thetford area able to report?

I renewed subscription curses we’re doomed now it’s snow if the radar is to be believed.

Last night was definitely a pub run special, as the 0z GFS output is nowhere near as good this morning and rather underwhelming in the latter stages!

UKMO is also rather disappointing in comparison.

ECM is the by far the best with frigid uppers!

Carol from GMTV is definitely a troll, she was just talking about daffodils and snow drops coming through soon ?

I think she is one of those weather presenters that are just there to look good rather than actual be ‘aware’ of what’s going on - disappointing. I woke up and house was freezing, central heating blasting as we speak.

I have a good feeling about this, first time this winter the east has threatened us. First time for a long while in fact.

If the 00Z comes true, which is still firmly FI we could have nearly 18 hours of falling snow in Kent.

How do you rate our chances of seeing some decent snowfall please Steve?

I must admit the excitement is starting to kick in for me too - Praying for some sort of Thames Streamer, it's been too long.

It's the first time I have seen anything resembling some Easterly activity in a long while. It is however looking like one of those postcode lottery events.

If the 06Z trend continues we should get more than an inch in most of Kent, temps look right and with that many hours of falling snow it will build up.

So we are now at T72 range for the deep cold to be hitting EA-

My view would be that from 1pm Sunday we can start reviewing the radar for wintry flurries with the crossover more to snow late eve ( but could be a bit either side )

The variable is still the wind direction, it’s progged to be NE - indicating that Suffolk & Mid Kent etc will be exposed to snow flurries although models are beginning to make slight adjustments to a more ENE flow which would then include a larger slab of the SE seeing snow flurries -

Mon / Tues are open to variability at the moment but certainly a window for a streamer- The probabilities of this are directly correlated to the Speed at which the Atlantic tries to push SE - The slower the evolution the more chance of a streamer-

PS. ECM has east Kent at -8c overnight Thurs (18F)

i'd say yes - Even if we don't see the snow, it's going to feel absolutely bitter

Not for bbq saying that we have been known to have a little Barbie even in winter. If my husband had the chance he would cook of one every day.

If you have a gazebo or something like that, there's nothing better than firing the BBQ up when it's snowing outside.

even better is cranking up the heating on the pool and swimming in the snow through the copious amounts of steam coming of  the surface !!
