I've sussed it...It's been raining in Southampton all day, and some b*stard has opened a wormhole directly to Beccles...?:help:

Icy and alert here a bit like Hail stone.

Nevermind, Norway in 2 weeks hopefully something wintry up there.

Should have a chance, seeing as you'll be slightly above the dreaded m4 corridor

Driving down the m20 at around midday and very surprised to see some settled snow on the grass on the outskirts of Maidstone at virtually sea level.

Back up at blue bell hill (600ft ASL) it was all snow and settled on all surfaces for a while.

Wet and rain now.

Whatever the rest of this winter provides, today's letdown is going to take some beating - five-minutes' sleet!:D

It's like, we're left with the scraps here in the SE.. I've had a few slushy snow days in Dec and now this?...:cray:

Snow stopped about midday now heavy rain, took the girlfriend back to Woking loads of surface water flooding and ditches over filling at some parts.

Looks like some intense rain now for a few hours not good!

Absolutely piddling it down here.

Torrential rain now making that whooshing sound on the house and windows, crazy weather today surprised at no warnings about the amount of rain

Yes, flooding might be an issue if this carries on! We could do with a nice high pressure sat over us for a couple of weeks.

That's on the horizon is it not into next weekend?

ECM is showing high pressure setting up over the UK, GFS is much less keen. Hopefully ECM is right.

Hot weather or mid 20s as you probably know ?. I’m a coldie at heart probably just showing my frustrations, we still have February to go and we know some of the best snow events have happened then , so I haven’t given up hope . Yet  !!

ps , I know ecm is not showing a plume .

It even started to accumulate here almost sea level near to Central London but as soon as it seemed to do that it turned to rain quite gutting but I knew it was only a matter of time. At a time it was 8.5/10 really thick snow 50p size flakes, this is the second incident of this, we had some quite intense snow on 10th too. That was more memorable here albeit there was a slushy cm or two so far from good, but how winters gone have been it stands out. It has still been five years since a proper cover of snow I only hope February ends this spectacularly,

So ARGEPE again got it right. Started the day in Portsmouth, rain (as forecast). Drove to Guildford around 9.30am, started snowing just before Hindhead tunnel (as forecast) and continued into Guildford. Turned back to rain by midday (as forecast). Rained all day after that!

Something to keep an eye on would be the potential for quite an active front to sweep through Wednesday morning associated with the low pressure forcast to cross Scotland..

When ever you see a sharp cut off in the models of wind speeds it usually suggests some kind of feature maybe a squall line etc with a bit of oomph to it. Though GFS sucks at the smaller detail and will paint a different picture to high RES

Would expect some very squally conditions perhaps warnings for areas further north over the next 48 hours..

It’s been snowing heavily here in Tallinn this morning. Approximately 2 inches has fallen and it’s coming down again now. Let’s hope it doesn’t cause issues for my flight to London this afternoon!
