I doubt that’s going to happen very much. We’ll see certaintly not if GFS 18z has anything to do with it.

Yep another low very south so we get a battering. Luckily neither today's or tomorrow's lows have been as strong as Elenore

If the model keeps changing so much, why do they report on it like this? Are the evening models more important than the others in the day? Sorry if it's a silly question, still learning??

No they are not. However those charts are from higher up, some people say they are more likely to verify. All its showing is a warming, which may or may not change anything for us. Sorry if I'm confusing you more, not my intention.

No, thank you, knowledge is power. Is one model more accurate or important than another???

Not really no, however there are models made specifically for picking out details in the short term. But they can be a bit and miss too.

(I've just posted this in the Short Range Model thread - but very relevant for our Region)....

Arpege model showing some enjoyable 'seasonal' weather to be had from the upcoming settled spell, with a couple of predominantly sunny days and overnight frosts away from eastern and southern coasts. After the excesses of the holiday period, some lovely weather for a brisk walk in the country! :)

Nebulosite (cloudiness: black is clear sky) for Sun 7th 16.00 and Mon 8th 16.00:

On a lighter note, I adored this video clip of a dog enjoying some tobogganing. My two dogs love snow, they run around the garden like lunatics, clearly excited by the wonderful white stuff to play in!!

After a couple of slight frosts over the weekend, it’s looking dull and average next week. Wow, I can’t wait for this cold spell ?

We had a couple of hours of near-torrential rain here on the coast 07.30-09-30. Cleared away now, and the sun is out!

Looks like perfect weather for a winter walk on the weekend if you don't mind it a tad breezy at times.

Also a different note, I was made redundant just before Christmas and have decided to continue what I do, but for myself. I cover Surrey and surrounding counties and will travel further depending on job size.

I am quietly confident that 1) it's gonna be dry and 2) That I won't be walking anywhere.

Don’t worry too much about it , apparently we’re going to get a cold blast from a “bomb cyclone” that they had in the states. At least that’s what GMTV said this morning ??

If you can’t get snow at home, take drastic action like me and head to Iceland!

Well I haven't posted in a while since I feel I had egg on my face after the very first cold spell that lasted about 24 hours back in November. Thinking of this weekend and next hmm not sure what to think.

BTW do love the respected Kate Garraway comment..... GMTV there all the same sensationalist. this true cold spell will arrive at end of month when I am in spain......

We should have had -20c nights and snow up to our eyeballs by now according to madden and the moon sent a huge flux capacitor filament towards earth, this should have given us blizzards but it was the wrong king of filament accord to corbyn. I don't think it was the wrong kind of filament, more the wrong kind of BS forecasts:doh:
