The Arpege is going for 70-80mph+ gusts funnelling through the central belt - could be quite a few people on the roads heading to wherever they’ll be bringing in the new year... potentially some high impacts with Dylan.

Further downgrades misses northern Ireland with 60 mph gusts across across a small area southern Scotland and northern England. Time for downgrade of the warnings????

It's past 10pm at night at a weekend ,still within festive holidays. I don't think there will be a 'downgrade' of the weather warnings now. The storm warning is there so people know to prepare, plan and adapt if they are considering travelling early tomorrow. The deepening of this complex low may not be as severe (we'll wait and see) but it could still be pretty wild early Sunday for people getting ferries or making journeys they could delay til later in the day and then have much more pleasant conditions. Highlighting that message is still valid.

a 24 hour train strike, combined with Storm Dylan (downgraded or not)

I think there could be a lot of fed up people out there

Not seen you post in ages, no longer sub zero eh hope you’re all good. :)

Lets be honest this thread would be tenfold more busy if the storm was set to affect Southern England. For Scots it isn’t too out the ordinary probably reason why for the lack of interest...

Hey, I’m good thanks. Dam, knew it was sub zero eh haha...

Getting very gusty now here in north Carlisle, pretty noisy outside.

Gusts 50-70mph from Wales northwards on XC weather, highest so far Malin head 71mph. Windy for many though even further south.

Its quite blustery here in North East Wales at the moment, but nothing out of the ordinary.

No further downgrades so GFS got it fairly spot on. One of the few times that downgrades don't continue into the day itself.

Away from the central belt nothing of note and Sunny Sheffield continues it's fairly quiet autumn and start to Winter.

Pretty good call from he Met Office with forecast wind speeds in the warning area, despite the GFS downgrades yesterday. A few exposed stations in NI & recently SW Scotland have recorded gusts 75-80mph. Could be nasty though the central belt in the next few hours as Dylan continues to track eastwards out into the North Sea.

Hunting desperately for a windy day for us and Friday maybe a day on interest but far too early to say.

Very windy in Carlisle but nothing out of the ordinary, that’s a bit further north from here. Had to tape my letterbox up lol
