Patchy cloud, dry, no ground frost now with temperature on 0.4 C, white ground frost late evening and in early hours when lowest showed at 0.3 C

Classic anticyclonic inversion conditions here last night. A brief spell of fog late evening and then largely clear skies. The temp' fell to a min' of 1.3c around 0500 and had risen to a 24 hr max' of 6.2c an hour later. Dry and sunny with patches of Ci and Ac so far this morning.

Yesterday.

 

Further drizzle last night cleared before midnight followed by a clearing sky, widespread frost and ice developing. At observation, frost and ice, shallow freezing fog developing. The fog thickened further through the morning, visibility reducing to around 25 yards at times. From mid afternoon the fog thinned to mist, due to increasing high cloud. Feeling cold.

Dry mild start to the day at 5.6C however lower down had a ground frost no doubt due to temperature inversion. The rest of day dry with sunny spells

Max temp 9.6C now 7.9C low 2.2C, Barometer 1020mb rising, Wind F2 SW, Rainfall Nil

Sunny periods to start the morning but it became cloudier and cooler by mid morning. A cloudy, breezy and milder afternoon. Still a few snow patches remaining despite a max' of 8.1c.
