Am I incorrect in thinking that the 7.30am and 8.00am readings can be the lowest of the night?

-2.7°C  was the minimum temperature for South Ockendon with the apparent temperature of -4.9 °C .

Depends on time of year and sunrise. Around now and the Min will often be around 0800 clock time, my lowest this morning was at 0846

Around 8:30 on my commute my car thermometer dipped to -12c. I was within a mile or so of RAF Cosford where observations seem to confirm this minimum.

A definite frost-hollow effect going on last night similar to 2010 in Cheshire where Woodford got down to -17'c. Backed up by xcweather showing the fog and haze across Staffordshire at 4am with those -11'c/-12'c temps, yet up here in the Peaks we barely dropped below -4'c across the snowfields.
