Buxtonweather showing temps at 0.5'c, but it must be a reporting error given that all the surfaces here are covered over with frost. 2x road reports in the NW already closed due to ice (Mancunian Way and Leek.) It's also snowing at the moment but very lightly.

You had to get that last bit in didn' you.😁

Heavy hail shower about 30mins ago left a covering here. Looks nice. If only it were snow - and that it would last!

How odd..bbc text for tomorrow says significant accumulations over high ground yet the app for moorside oldham (300m) shows about 2 hours of heavy snow then sleet!!!

Yep got the same problem here as well.

i usually don’t take much notice of the app graphics as they are all over the place but this mornings text forecast is looking good for a period of heavy snow for much of the region.

lets just hope the downgrades sod off somewhere else for a change to give us a decent fall before the milder air turns everything to crap.

Good to see the cloud moving this far inland, still sunny and certainly no sign of snow but a bit of cloud is a good start.

It still looks ok for some morning snow tomorrow before the wind turns westerly and everything washes away. We would really benefit if the system was to slow down and correct southwards somewhat but it doesn't look like happening this time.

You can see the system out in the Atlantic starting to form a negative tilt as it heads for Ireland.

Looks like I may be staring down the barrel of a streamer.

Definitely a procession of showers.

It's definitely felt colder than average but if I take even my long term average and apply the absolute minimum that we've had this winter it's still a lot higher. I feel it's a struggle to record anything below -3C here recently. Absolute minimum this year is -2.8C .. the long term absolute minimum on average is a degree lower.

I have recorded  -4.0°C minimums on 2 consecutive nights this month and my mean minimum is 3.2°C so not too bad here.  Coldest minimum last winter was -3.6°C. I don’t have long-term statistics though.
