Rooting for ya Will, a couple of weeks without snow must be so hard to deal with. :yahoo:

Should be enough to build a few igloos for many around these parts

How would a drive from morcambe to Liverpool fair on Tuesday? I’m travelling home from a one Night stay for work. Flying out of Liverpool Tuesday afternoon back to Belfast. Bit worried / anxious

Peak District forecast looks promising for Monday. States that freezing levels will fall to 100m by the evening. Surely this indicates snow, including accumulating snow, likely at all levels by the evening?

Beginning to wonder if this could be something really really good for our region..i thought the EC snow charts would have downgraded by now..

Forget all the faux Easterlies. North Westerlies can really deliver for our region if all the variables come together, as proven in previous years - 2009/10 etc.

BBC forecast still very pessimistic unless elevation is involved, still showing 5c and rain Mon/Tues, has shown sleet on Thursday for the first time this morning. I'll believe something good is on the cards when I see flakes fall...........or belting past in a howling gale, too many let down is the past with last minute model swings.

Elevation will ay a part for sure..EC has uppers of -7 by wed so i would hope the showers will be increasingly wintry ...to low levels

Those like me in typically snow starved areas.....to avoid crushing disappointment, dont get too exited this time.    Unless there are some big changes (and even then be skeptical)  this looks like a no go for anyone nearish the coast or a 0 asl.

I'm not getting too carried away yet, I'll see if the weekends models firm up on the current positive signals for some decent wintry weather next week.

Strong westerly winds, sunny spells and occasional sleet, hail and snow showers will lead to winter conditions across this hills. Icy surfaces are likely, and whilst accumulations will mostly be above the freezing level, of around 200m, some snow is possible to valley floors during heavier bursts.
