This is weird, but it must be a wind direction thing, introducing moisture into the cold air. The intensity of it has increased so much in just over an hour.

The Irish Sea is feeding this system.

Also, it’s not moving north at all. The system has completely stalled, it’s just growing and growing and expanding. This could be our best chance of a decent snowfall in years. What a complete surprise! Come on! Please!

Isn’t heavy enough yet. Need it to keep feeding from the sea and become as strong as it was to our south earlier. I’ve seen it happen before. Why not today?

Well I'm right next to the Irish Sea and no snow atm but cloud thickening - from Southport direction...

I looked at the radar earlier and noticed that the system seemed to be collecting moisture from the east and curving back inland towards Leeds. The whole thing has joined in the middle now! Incredible stuff.

Bit of a surprise, light/moderate snow coming down. Not sicking though. Is this because of the temps or lack of intensity?

A bit of both.
