Tough call Darren.

Meto text sounds good even for low lying areas on tues.

Next 24 hours will reveal all but if we cant get an event with -7 uppers then we are relying on winds off the Atlantic with -8/-9 uppers which is rare as hens teeth and consequently we will be relying on easterlies which are also becoming extinct.

The BBC shows snow for me on Tuesday, but a few years ago it had the heavy snow graphic for all 24hrs of the the day... (on the day itself) and all I got was snizzle.  That was probably a slider though.  So if it's a period of downgrading our expectations maybe one of two surprises might crop up next week.

Just looking like an increasingly wet, windy and unpleasant spell of weather. I don't think there was ever much for us in this for the south or west of the region? Hopefully those in the north or east might get something.

That low Wed/Thurs ruins things somewhat with strong winds and rain but then turning colder again with some heavy wintry showers.

Decent watering hole on a nice evening in summer when you can stand outside.

Well i’ve been pretty chipper last few days looking forward to 4/5 days of snow showers.

Then the low appeared and ruined a day And will melt any snow.

The northerly is now not modelled at the weekend.

NWS is right maybe Tuesday may be fun then that’s about it.

Just now, Deep Snow please said:

Is there any possibility of this storm coinciding with cold air and all that precip falling as snow rather than rain? #clutchingatsraws

Only if the low tracks to the south of your location. I don't even think snow on the front edge of it is suggested.

If it tracked through Wales maybe on the northern flank. At the mo though it's charging through Scotland with time running out for a shift south.

I doubt it at the moment. If we are lucky enough we may see some at backedge. It just a matter of wait and see on the models.

ECM coming up in next hour.

Heck if our snow can drift to the west country in this short a time frame (December?), maybe it's a goer still. Anyway at least it will be cold for a bit.
