I know everyone says the apps are useless but in my experience when they say rain, it rains. Mind you when they say snow here...it rains lol.

One thing that is really puzzling me is that the met office has me down for rain all week BUT  it also has the wind as south easterly all week. That surely cant be right can it?

No idea mate :)

I know the bbc apps are unreliable but if peeps type in moorside on the bbc app and take a look im not sure how on earth there are no warnings?

Unless of course it a pile of utter waste, in which case it begs the question why dont they ditch them?

Warnings will come in the morning for our region. Wont really start in our region till tuesday morning and then later in the day for lower areas.

Looks good foor moorside as you say.... might be a decent total by Friday after which temps really plummet

Just popping in from the Yorkshire thread to have a look-see - you guys look as though you’re going to get a bit of a pasting! I only live a few miles east of the Saddleworth border so I’m hoping that the white stuff actually makes it over Saddleworth Moor and dumps a load over us! Haha!!

No chance we have a snow globe that stops at the Yorkshire border.

Only joking. Can we have some of yours when it comes from the East?

Still plenty of time for adjustment but it looks like Tuesday to Thursday are the days to to fill yer boots if snow is your thing before a bitterly cold but mainly dry period of weather sets in.

hopefully by then we will all have some decent snow cover to get out and enjoy and i’m certainly looking forward to getting out doing some walking next weekend, hopefully with the camera

there could certainly be some severe frosts over the snow fields.

Can't get my head around the fact that METO is showing constant rain showers this week for my location while gfs gives me 10+ cm:fool:

It does worry me that the last two days the met office app has shown heavy snow for me for next week, it now shows sleet at night and rain during the day and dry by Thursday. This happened last time and all the snow ended up in Birmingham!

I think the GFS may be overdoing the uppers at -5 -6 when in reality they will be -3 -4 that's the difference between rain and snow...the GFS is known to do this quite often.

The showers won’t unless there is a more northerly element to the flow than what is forecast.

straight westerly or WNW and it’s game on for much of the region although we need the uppers to play ball otherwise it could be a wintry mixture rather than snow all the way.

the feature forecast for later in the week could land anywhere looking at it with everything from complete devastation to a leaf rustler on the cards for us.

How do you think Dukinfield will do 170m? Back in work Tuesday so I hope no high winds!..  Driving over Shap on the m6 when it's blowing a gale often requires an undies change over at Penrith ☺

I dont see the point of worrying about it. Yes a dumping would be nirvana but if it doeasnt theres nothing we can do about it other than fill the moans and ramps thread.

I’ve looked at all the data.

Read all the posts.

Looked at all the Tweets ..........and I have no idea if it’s going to snow (and lay) or it’s just going to be rain shower after rain shower.

Pitty it’s a mid week event.
