Thick frost and -1.5. Wind is gusting over the Pennines from the East. I can hear it roaring over my roof.

Lovely blue skies looking out the window this morning being able to watch the overhead flights with the scanner and seeing the Moonset behind the hill. Windchill is -3.6'c here but the sun is quite warm behind the double-paned windows. I have a feeling that the cloud and clag to the south will be over us by the afternoon from looking at the latest vis satellite.

Went up to the Roebuck inn Oldham lastnight and it was absolutely bitter! Ffrost persisting all day and small ponds frozen over.

High parts of our region should so pretty well over the coming couple of weeks, i mean 300m plus, for the rest of us probably not much tho..

Minus 5.5c this morning, stunning winters day but very chilly hasn’t got above freezing all day. Still very much frozen where the sun hasn’t touched.

Spent much of last night awake listening to the wind howling as it bounced over the Pennines.

it’s not often it happens, even less so in recent years but an easterly seems to be effected by local topography and the result can be some quite serious gusty winds which a couple of years ago managed to destroy three fence panels.

not to bad this time but noisy all the same.

now the cloud has moved in and a few of the forecast snow grains are blowing about in the breeze.

not my ideal version of winter weather but a bit more seasonal than mild and wet I suppose.
