It is less wintry than the 12z because the low is deeper and more round. Therefore it has stronger winds mixing out the cold pretty quickly. We need a shallower feature.

 I was expecting it. Temps and DPs are no longer conducive now the wind has backed. If we can catch a streamer then maybe evaporative cooling can help us out.

Just looked outdoors and a layer of white on the ground.  However whatever is I can hear so looks like as you say: Freezing rain/graupel/sleet or combination thereof.
