Yes, good to see the Met Office is seeing potential for January. We just need to grin and bear it next week.

For sure-

The update into late Dec onwards sounds really , really good!!

Yes i agree this is our last chance before christmas but alas your going to need 300m imho-

All that said the meto update is brill for the post christmas period i'm beginning to think we could have a SSW over christmas and hopefully this place will be rocking early January!!

Lets'just hope post Christmas 300m is not required :)

God absolutely vile out there at the moment in town.

Going to set off 15 minutes later going home because I can't be bothered to get drenched on my bike again and looks like I will be chasing it all the way if I go right now.

Rain here despite the radar showing sleet/snow locally, more likely to be snowing on the higher tops however.

temps should start dropping away now- by 23:00 hours most of the region (away from the coast) should be between 0-1 degrees acc to raintoday- although the uppers are not great i suspect higher elevations will be white again come morning-assuming precip makes it ths far.

meto app not remotely interested tho- has sleet and rain round here at 300m!!

Looks good for peaks - think my location will be just 10miles too far west.

you know what will i'm just looking at a map of the UK and i'm actually not far off the spine of the country- my location is right on the edge of the pennines - think 300m will be needed but yes perhaps up the road from here might get   a few cm..

Went outside this morning worrying about having to clear 6 inches of snow from the cars and drive but thankfully and not for the first time in the last week, it was only 6 inches of potential that fell and when mixed with rain it's a damn site easier to get shut of than snow.

more potential forecast for my part of the region overnight tonight.

will I be high enough, will it head either north or south of me, will it stall and fizzle at the bottom of the road or will for once potential actually turn into snow.

watch this space although TBH off to Gran Canaria for a weeks holiday on Saturday so not particularly bothered about snow, rain or potential at this stage of the week.

a few days of sun, heat and 24 hour all inclusive will do nicely.

Good time to go, you will miss the sleep inducing southwesterlies all next week.

I am planning a volcano trip to La Palma in late January, I bet it will be the wintriest week since 2010 when I will be away.

There is a trough swinging in in the next hour or so but temps probs still on the wrong side of margnal for most until 23:00 onwards..

Yes, it is coming down quite fast so not much time for clear skies to provide surface cooling.

If this was snow it would die crossing the irish sea from scotland, no doubt about it, absolute joke.

I think they are too far west most of the time and even closer to the influence of the Irish sea. They get first prize for rain though lol
