Still going here, decent covering now. A very nice bonus. :D

Should still be there in morning as well ,with skies clearing allowing a frost to set in

Driving will be fun, how long do you think this will keep going for?

Have they stopped talking about the snow in Model Output discussion thread?

I want to have a look for some model analysis but can't might leave it till tomorrow to be on the safe side.

So Ive been watching football all afternoon so Im not up to date with how our region fared in the end. It sounds like some of you got a bit of snow at least. Here in south Manchester weve got nothing on the ground we have just had really light snizzle for most of the afternoon. How has everywhere else got on?

I know everyone’s exhausted after today, but GFS is showing this for Thursday.

Heads up to higher, eastern parts of the region. You’ll definitely need elevation this time around but northwestsnow in Failsworth might have a better chance . Flow is due to be a direct westerly. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/maps/GFSOPUK12_93_53.png

Just arrived in Llangollen and there’s no chance of returning back. Roads were completely trecherous, there’s around a foot of snow and a forecast low here of -10C

Went for a short 20 mile bike ride about 2 o' clock; headed out of Lydiate towards Melling and the snow was falling very lightly, however only a bit further east towards Bickerstaffe it was very heavy, but not really sticking. Turned back west towards Aughton and it was the same. Then rode across the Moss towards Formby and the snow was noticeably lighter, and there was a slightish blue sky towards the coast. Got home, and it was just dandruff - and no sign of anything sticking.

All in all a disappointing few days.....

Tonight and tomorrow has a severe frost forecast for the north, especially area's in the Pennines where the beeb is expecting temps as low as -12'c. Black Ice will be a real hazard over the next 48hr, especially into tomorrow with a slight thaw of whatever snow is lying on the ground and then re-freezing again.

buxtonweather

Current situation: Traffic is NOT moving well,  on main roads - The A537 Cat & Fiddle to Macclesfield, A54 Leek, A53 Congleton, and A515 are all reporting difficulties right now, with trucks stuck on inclines and traffic backing up.  Only the A6 North & South, have no traffic problems.   AND- minor and side roads in across the northern Peak District, have deep compacted snow, which has frozen (same with all the pavements in Buxton).
