For what it's worth it's around 20 miles south of where the GFS predicted it to be on it's 18z at 3am and doing some maths it's moved 32 miles or so over the last hour so theoretically if I keeps moving at the same speed then at 3 am it should be around 60 miles north of where it is now. Which could put it as far north as Omagh or Armagh big emphasis on COULD though! Sorry got the ruler out there :rofl:

 Don’t know really. If it’s still going north east then surely it’s game on. Not far from crossing the border now, or has it already?

This is a nice sounding forecast  imho.

Headline:

Cold for all. Possibly disruptive snow in the south.

Today:

It will be cold and dry with bright spells for many, but cloudier across southern parts with snow at times, which could possibly lead to significant accumulations in places. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Looks a bit further north than expected to me, it's started to pivot. My location has had an upgrade from the met over the last  few hours.

wish mine had an upgrade, just keeps downgrading! Posting in here as no one in yorkshire thread

Geographically, I'm in the East Midlands even though I'm less than a mile from Woolley Bridge  (Derbyshire/Tameside border). The regional forecast is;

East Midlands

Headline:

Long periods of snow, heavy at times.

Today:

Cloudy with periods of snow, heavy and prolonged in places with significant and disruptive accumulations likely. The snow will tend to ease later in the day from the north. Very cold with the temperature staying below freezing in places. Maximum temperature 1 °C.

I wish:wallbash:

 My Rain Alarm app says there’s something 30 miles to myself. Is it coming this way?

The caveat is that it is stalling now I believe as progression is now very slow. It's a matter of whether it begins its slide without much pivot or whether the pivot provides northern areas with light snow. It's still possible there will be no snow for anywhere in the region.

Met-office probably right on with the southern trend outcome despite it being further north at this point.
