Morning, benign start to the day here, mild, not windy and thankfully, currently not raining either.

Wind was howling when I went to bed at around midnight, bit gutted I won’t beat my monthly precip record for the year, but good for any potential flooding issues of course.

time to pack the tree away now and get sloshed tonight!

happy new year everyone, enjoy whatever you will be doing tonight, here’s to a cold second 2 thirds of winter :drunk:

And the award for the biggest warning fail of the year goes too.... The MetOffice..

11.2mm fell during the warning time. It looked ominous when i checked yesterday's 12Z, but the 18Z confirmed it.

Accumulations for the past 12 hours:

Temp: 11.7°C - Hum: 91% - Dew: 10.2°C - Bar: 995.94hPa - Wind: SW ~ WSW @ 12mph

The storms last few days have thrown up plenty of rain each day, making it very damp.
SW winds constantly 20-25mph through the week, with wind gusts pretty constant at 30-37mph. Thursday was only day the winds dropped off at 5-12mph.
Rain this week; Xmas Day 2.9mm, Boxing Day 10.6mm, Wed 5.5mm, Thur 0.2mm, Fri 10.2mm, Sat 6.7mm, today so far 6.8mm.

11.2c now and wind has died down this morning, SSW 8-12mph.

BOT  I think is a computer automated program .

Anyway, can anyone answer why Ian Fergusson doesn’t post here any more .

I always loved the fact that he would mix with us mere peasants and share is wealth of expertise and often accurate posts forecasts.

Many Thanks

It has been talked about in here and other threads OM.

Ian stopped posting due to people taking his information and charts (meto one's he was allowed to use) and then posting it on social media as their own. He used to get a lot of stick in the mod thread  - very unnecessarily so, too. I don't blame him for it either, he took time out of his busy schedule to keep some of us informed as to the Met's thoughts, but alas, his favours were abused.

Heavy shower here, with gusty winds. No hail though, but a 3°C drop in temperature in 15mins, and pressure rise spike.

Won't break my monthly record of 124.2mm back in July but need just 2mm to reach 100mm for this month.

Happy new year my lovelies! I’m actually rather sober, which is rather depressing! Here’s to a snowy January and beyond! Cheers! X

Despite the lack of cold here, I quite enjoyed December's weather.

Hoping for a better year, in 2018, both in life and with the weather.

Happy new year to all. smile.gif

Happy New Year everyone. 2018.....the year of the stalling channel low that plasters us all as it slides slowly up to the M4, pivots then slides back down again and we get to grab every last snowflake :yahoo:
