You know, you could be onto something there.

I stun myself sometimes you know :D

I do feel for those who really enjoy a particular weather set up but don't see much of it , but in good ol Blighty we are more likely to see snow in Feb /March and I distinctly remember in 1998 snow on Easter Sunday in April and it stayed around .

However , I hope that this winter does give some variety and I do enjoy those who take the time to explain patterns, set ups and weather vocabulary, so thank you to those who do that .

Let us know when you do... the weather should change then. :yahoo:

Just booked two summer holidays..  no matter how much I love snow, you’ll never get me holidaying in it. Love my sun lounger too much!

Same happened a year later on 14th/15th April. Snowfall on the 14th and still a decent covering on the 15th. Not that I'd want that as my interest in snow pretty much vanishes by the spring equinox, but was quite something to see as I recall.

I'm happy to see the white stuff when ever it comes as im sure khodds would agree:whistling::rofl:

My season of interest tends to run November to May for snow chances with extra height but it becomes a lonely quest in the west country thread come spring.

Fairly frequent rain showers, temp 7C and still windy gusting 30mph

If the BBC app is correct then it will be gusty winds ( as Carol K ) would say will be around over the weekend and by Monday a North Easterly direction . That will be fun !

Haven't looked outside today , but it feels pretty mild  and seems bright too ( through the curtains !)

Showers. 5.5c.

Thought you (and Gibby probably too) would have showers judging by the sky to my W/NW.

We had this kind of set up numerous times last summer (low pressure and wind convergence) so I expect it to stay fine here until late pm.

Haha, don't get me wrong, I love snow whenever but don't actively look for it after spring starts.

Are you a convective weather fan NK?

“I like the GFS, but I also like the ECM. But which is better... there’s only one way to find out...”

Would've been appropriate yesterday.

Similar here but I only hold out till March 12th... theory being if the channel islands can get snow on that date so can we. Mind you we have had snow fall in April for the last two years not that it settled

Give it 3days until it comes within the short range, amazes me why people believe in models that are written by humans, who cant see 10days into the future, yet use use computers to exact the same ol rubbish, just quicker. KNocker has the right idea, short range thread, at least it becomes believable at that range, AND people play a lot nicer in there:drinks:

I think if you want a reliable short term forecast then yes that’s the thread to go to, but if you’re on the hunt for something further out, or a general idea of what might be on the horizon, the mad thread is useful, but you have to accept there will be some large differences of opinion, and have thick skin. I enjoy the Mod thread, even the bickering, it makes me laugh out loud  sometimes ?.
