Got down 0.3c an hour ago now recovered to 2.1. Next week' fare will be interesting only for continual north west winds heavy thundery showers some brilliant winter sunshine inbetween but I still think wet rather than white.

Back down below freezing again here with frost and ice forming. Been a lovely winter's day too. Second in a row - good heavens!

I'm quite optimistic about next week. I'm not expecting accumulations away from higher ground, but I think everybody is in with a chance of seeing snow falling. As somebody said above, I think the biggest pain will be Wales lol. It saves up all its extermination energy while rain is on offer then sucks the life out of snow showers. Then again, that's a very strong Pm flow progged for next week so showers could make it all the way across largely untouched. We'll see!

Looking at the projected windflow next week it kinda veers more westerly as it hits the Irish sea near south part of Ireland, so i'm wondering if there's a chance of Bristol Channel streamers setting up on occasions next week.

I caught something strange on my webcam yesterday - just spotted it via the timelapse. If I spot something, I can trawl through my pictures and I can usually work out what it was, but this, i can't. It's on two pictures, so I'll post the one before it and the one after it too. Each image is circa 14 to 15 seconds between each frame, and they are in order.

It's definitely not fog, as fog looks like this:

It has perplexed me!

Very interesting and quite spooky too.  Sort of like atmospheric fireworks .

Morning all, it was frosty when I went to bed but it's lifted overnight and now it's just damp and cool. It was clear but a bit misty until about half an hour ago, now the fog has descended really quickly and we're back to pea soup again. Looks and feels like a late autumn morning, everything dripping wet with the cobwebs highlighted with the damp.

And the fog has gone again as quickly as it came. Most odd. Guessing it was a particularly large and low cloud passing the hill tops.

Think your in for another wet depressing coldish week next week, this time from west not east!

Mind you temperatures will be probably warmer than last weekends slack easterly.

Just checked my locale suggests heavy snow all day thursday with princetown having 3 days straight of heavy snow!  What model does the NW forecast run off?

Only as the MO/BBC weather app suggests rain rain and more rain!!

I'm not bitter but I will be laughing when the myth of widespread snow is debunked next week!

Has it disappeared yet like it did after I mentioned it yesterday?
