Just got to work here on the island. Icey cold and rain. Just not gonna snow for us now. I've all but given up.

Hey for some reason I am awake.. oh no tell a lie I know why. My lodger is up and this is a small house so can hear everything. Strangely too it feels warm tonight and I don’t have the heating on? Hmm. Anyway I digress. I get the feeling that storm will skirt along the channel and will fall as rain. I hope to be corrected of course. Just can’t see it happening.

Not far off wrong. It's sleet here and very wet outside

More snow than sleet in Mudeford. No chance of it settling but hey ho, nice to see.

That front does look to be pivoting in, Wilts could get something in the east maybe .

Dandruff attack this morning, with a DP of -0.1C and an air temperature of 1.1C will be little more than that at the current rate, and no shampoo required. Time to go out and brave the elements...

Very windy here and temps of 1.7c

Is there any chance the snow will get this far West, and will still be snow if it does get here????

Wind chill on weather station has been showing -2 to -3c Brrrrrrr

Same here! White flag time for the Isle of Wight. I’ve been waiting for Monday morning as this was our biggest chance!! Didn’t need to look outside just heard the rain lashing on the window.../

HI, friends across the Bristol Channel.

I haven't been following the forecast track of Storm Ana; was it supposed to stall and pivot over Normandy in the way it is, and was the front associated with it supposed to spread as far north and west as it has (now approaching Bristol)? Perhaps I'm clutching at straws but it would be superb to see a second day of snow, even if it's light!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
