Heart says yes, head says another near miss. I could ask my wife? She's normally right about everything ?

Snow forecast for isle of Wight from David@isleofwightweather.

Won't mean much to most on here but he's been spot on with our local forcast over the years.

Ha! I wouldn’t have minded today, but don’t fancy driving to ringwood in the snow. Knowing poole it will be 5mins and that will be it though

So glad to have seen snow today, slightly gutted that there's hardly any on the ground considering we had snow on and off, sometimes heavy, for around 9 hours but despite that this winter is only 10 days old and it's outdone the past 4 which have been crap where snow is concerned.

Here's  hoping we don't need to spend too long chasing the next cold spell, although I hear a tweet from Ian has said that the rest of December with be mild, fingers crossed the turns out to be wrong.

Amazing how 10 miles can make a difference to a forecast..

Feel like the precipitation across the Midlands is somewhat intensifying & enlarging in area. Doubt it'll affect us tho.

OK radar lies. It is still snowing here and radar has none over my area. It does however, have the whole midlands chunk marching South again. According to that, it will be over my house again in the small hours.

Elsewhere, there is a steady stream of rain coming Eastwards into Cornwall and South Devon. I wonder if the cold pool will travel South and turn this to snow for you guys there?

Already looks like the GFS 18z is even further south than 12z. The position of the rainfall across W France is further north than the GFS 18z predicts at 1am.

White but not much.

Hmm, maybe Forest of Dean a better shout.

Could do with some more overnight.

On the bright side if we do get any more snow, it is likely to settle as many surfaces likely to freeze overnight.

Really can't see how any of the precip north or south of us will impact when we're all asleep.

NE winds blow it in?

I think we might need a bit of fairy dust to go with it the way today has gone so far :wallbash:

Well not having settling snow has drove me to drink with a combination of a few other things, ex mrs living it up with another ect, now I'm undoing all me gym work, but it was the snow that tipped me over the edge, bloody Morgans spiced just in the cupboard telling me to drink it, maybe I've relapsed psychosis and hearing things I also blame the snows... :rofl::rofl::rofl:

remember folks, I mentioned a couple of times about moisture influx from Storm Ana may reinvigorate the decaying occlusion straddling CS England...looks like it's happening as ppn in midlands is on the increase, this will slip southwards during the night and may expand in coverage....whilst further south the frontal systems already giving rain in the SW approaches and over NW france will encroach into southern counties as we move towards morning...The exact track of this is open to question but could give additional rain/sleetsnow to parts of the region

Yep that rain will remain here temps still above 3c. It will be bumping into mild air! Good luck all it might not settle but if you see snow falling i it will be a small victory
