I think it’s what’s showing here... I may be wrong. But if we get this lot to shift, let it freeze then the next lot come in we could be in business?

Remember that winds are due to swing N/NE ahead of the arrival of the french storm during the next few hours. Will drag down the colder uppers and surface temps from the snowfield to the north of us.

Someone just posted a chart in the Midlands thread and it looks like south Wales and most of the SW will get heavy snow over night for hours.

Heavy snow again, just a pain it's small flakes but the grass and cars are turning white.

Heavy snow started here not too long ago, been snowing all day.

The roads will be chaos tomorrow after its all re-frozen overnight.

W COUNTRY Further limited (1-3cm) snowfall during this evening across N'rn areas down through districts inland from the more northern stretch of Bristol Channel coast (eg N Som, B&NES, Mendips etc), this gradually fading. Ice risk needs emphasis on ungritted routes.

A little more hope?

As if I haven't been tormented enough already today with the radar overestimating precipitation rates and also showing snow 5 miles up the road from me for several hours now (although this may also be false - but it's devilish behaviour).

Don't get me wrong, I always knew it was a long shot for here today, but the close proximity and constant signs of potential transition falling short have made it hard to shrug off even for someone as familiar as I am with being in the least snowy region of CS England (the dreaded southern half of the Avon Valley).

Just been outside as it looked like drizzle falling - it’s not it’s fine snow. Settling where snow has fallen off my van during the day. My outdoor thermometer (which is prob inaccurate as from a DIY!) had been reading 0c all day now says -1c. Interesting morning coming even if we don’t get heavy snow...

Best to keep an eye on the high res models.

Huge shift from Arome model now including the Central Southern England tomorrow morning.

ARPEGE follows the same pattern

Wouldn't take the detail that seriously @karlos1983 :D

That french low looks a bit far east for our region, more of a Chiltern hills dumping again.
