Had to drive to Coaley Peak in Stroud today to get the snow I so desperately craved... was well worth the scary moments on the icey roads, though. Plus my 3yr old daughter loved being able to finally say 'do you want to build a snowman' with snow on the ground!

There really should have been some warning about the rain here. Had 35mm so far and showing no signs of stopping!

Yeah and look out west mate, all the way back to the south west of Wales and into the Irish Sea, that's how far back echos on the radar stretch could be a great fair few hours of snowfall, at long as the temps stay on the right side.

Could be good, would love  to see a good dumping over the next hour or so.

Hi Khodds, where are you getting these figures from?.....you can't have a dewpoint above the actual air temperature, physical impossibility

My weather station.. it won’t let me upload a picture to show you. Must be wrong then. Snow quite heavy now!

Came across this car with It's hazard lights on too. Nobody was in the car though. Hopefully they were ok wherever they were.

However, whilst my Mrs was checking to see if anyone was in there, a car was coming up behind us, way too fast, slammed his brakes on and started skidding towards us. I had to jump in the car and speed off slightly to avoid him!!

Snow has been falling pretty much all day so lovely to see. If only the dew point was lower I recon we would have got at least a foot. Couple of inches is still awesome. :yahoo:

Hopefully others in the region will have a few surpises before the end of tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be an ice fest. GFS have upgraded the cold, so we have potentially a full ice day :cold:(keeping our snow - and slush :D) with temps plunging to -6C after dark.

Couple of cars have been struggling to park where I am. No gritter for us as we are not a main road.

NW radar saying we are having heavy snow, I can confirm it is heavy rain. It's just not quite cold enough, which is often the way. Having the precipitation and the temperatures at the same time here seem nigh on impossible. Loving the pictures of the snow on the thread today though guys, I can dream... :)

This reminds me of a few years back when we were all huffing and puffing on here and then the streamer started, stalled and it went on for hours, the majority of us ended up with loads of snow that lasted for days because temps were so low.

Keep the faith everyone.

Sleet continuing here as per the last 2 hours, temperature at 2c, DP at 0c. Wet bulb (just) outside of the ideal snow temperature!

Whether you are tonight, Ice may become the real hazard into tomorrow.
