Too much rain this morning and not enough snow falling now. Took a drive a bit higher up though and there was a covering near Bristol airport and around there.

Temp is 1.2c and dewpoint has dropped to 0.0c

More snow than rain now, hopefully we can get all snow soon.

It is actually settling now, didn't take long, that small drop in dewpoint from 1.0c to 0.0c has done the job.

Ok genuine question, largely rain here but a little sleet in it too,im off to Salisbury tonight to see Milton Jones, but just wondered if anyone in that area,or anyone who knows a short term forecast for around there has any idea what might be in store, only because I have to do ungritted lanes and B roads to get there, any info would be much appreciated as not much further north its been quite bad, thank you.

Here comes the Northern France storm that 'Could' give southern areas some interest later tonight.

I don’t think any of us stand a chance with that storm. I’m not even entertaining the thought. :nonono:

Does look like a nowcasting type of system once again. However, given the colder air now coming back south, and with some help of a much colder landmass to the North of us now over the snowfields. It could be interesting into tomorrow early morning.

But being near the coast, expecting more cold rain and a ice rink instead :D

There is some mention from the Met and other services, Met actually have most of the central parts of Southern England under a ice warning currently.

However, like todays system, it all depends on the locations. The ECM moved the system 150 miles North over night, but the GFS maintains some interest for us.

I'm amazed it's actually settling after just over 40mm of rain today.

Temp dropped to 0.9c, dewpoint 0.0c

Just as it looks like it's getting it's act together it turns back to rain

Rain? None of that here mate, still snowing and that large echo on the radar out west with very heavy precipitation is heading right for us

Why not? There’s definitely ice mixed in with this rain at the minute...

You misunderstand me, I refuse to believe it... it may happen, but in my head it won’t. That way I’m not disappointed
