I've looked at this forum for a couple of years now but decided to join.

Heavy rainfall in early hours here but has lightened now,  the met office app is showing some light snow this evening and the wunderground website is showing snow for most of the night, obviously these are changing every time they update. The temperature is currently 7c but is supposed to drop to 2c in the afternoon.

I'm hoping something like the GFS18z last night can come off which showed snow through the whole night here. I'm also hoping that the low tomorrow will correct northwards but i'm unaware what this would require.

I hope many people get snow :)

You are kidding me! Now this is ridicously marginal ... 7 miles up the road it’s a different story!

Temp was meant to hit 6-8*C in far S this morning and then fall rapidly in the afternoon, the main issue today-tomorrow is less whether it turns cold enough and more whether there’s sufficient precipitation still falling to produce any lying snow once it has done so. Models are 50:50 on this so I’m not daring to expect much down here in the far S.

Yep - as expected the West Country snow shield going to remain firmly intact. All rain today and then as the system slides away the back edge snow not going to be particularly significant and very unlikely anyway west of Dorset. Sigh. All extremely disappointing for snow hopers... and if my blo*dy roof blows off this morning that will just be perfect.

Move on to later in the week.

I hope this metoffice forecast is right showing snow in a hour and then snow on and off for the rest of the day but i'm not confident on that!

And look at the temperature contrast!

I'm beginning to lose hope too. We were forecast sleet between 9am and 10am but it's just been rain. So frustrating when the snow is so CLOSE!

It's sunny and calm in NW Bristol - the temp shot up 1 degree to 3.8 in an instant. Is this the eye of it?

Temp here in Yate has gone from 1.3c to 4.7c in the space of an hour it seems dew point is currently 4.1c also. Might have to get the bbq out at this rate

Tell me about it. I'm about two miles from the snow line. Can see it from my window.

I’m assuming as the low goes east it brings in the winds from the north then north east introducing colder air

This will be a good test to see whether the MetO app is accurate or not. Uninstalling if its a rain fest lol

Temp is dropping here though Smartie, currently 4.8c and still falling. It was 7.0c at 9.15am

Thankfully the wind has died down too.

W COUNTRY 2/2 Later today & this evening, the 'backwash' weakening remnants of the main occluded front sink S. In turn, this introduces a new or renewed risk of sleet/snow into areas not hitherto affected, eg Bristol, N Som & S'wards: not expected as bad as to N, given weakening
