right on cue, the wind is changing from Swerly to northerly, is picking up and changing the rain back to snow here

Nothing but rain in Bristol & it looks to stay that way for a good while yet.

Main threat for Bristol area is later today after front has cleared away, to leave scattered "clumps" of PPN around Bristol.

Hi all, Andy in Poole here. Haven’t posted in a few years. I’m a geography teacher but a complete novice when it comes to understanding the “Snowology” :p jus wondering what our chances are of seeing any of the white stuff potentially tonight into tomorrow. Haven’t read much about that potential low pressure system coming from France in a while and the meto app has hardly any precipitation forecast at all.  Thanks, Andy

If it does move South then we would be back in the game.

Is there any chance it will?

Fully expecting it to in the coming few hours. Had a sudden wind change to the west in the last ten minutes though so it's still going the wrong way.

Nice to see some in our region getting some sleet and snow.
Not any chance here.

3.2c at midnight and its risen slowly since then, now 8.4c

Wind has been SE through the night and early hours, 12-18mph with many 25mph gusts.
Rain started just after midnight and has been constant through the night and early morning, 13.2mm so far.
975.5 hPa and falling.

Wind has changed direction in last hour to a more Westerly direction and is now 18-25mph with some 30mph gusts.

This is mental, after a steady fall in temps the winds pick up and the bloody temps shoot up

Really depends on if we have any precip left later when the temperatures really drop. I’d say probably unlikely for us. ☹️

Must say the Netwx SR Model has modelled this extremely well so far determining the northern extent of the mild air.

Its these situations that make it worse when its snowing only 20 miles to are north probably less and cold rain down here and even if it does turn to snow it will never settle but for those that do have the snow enjoy it as it is the first proper snow event since January 18th 2013!

Incredible as well for areas in Bristol, current temperatures observations show Bristol currently at 5'c, whereas Filton currently at 1'c.

I can imagine that it's not much fun for you@knocker . Are you in a built up area or on the edge of Camborne ?

Im in a built up area and I think fence panels will be splitting and cracking if not being blown down .

I'm on the western edge, I'm hoping the worst may be through now.
