Yes today event reminds me of Dec 8 1990, very similiar but a bit further south than then. Pleased to see may places are getting lots of snow, great timing if you like cold snowy conditions in the run up to christmas and on a Sunday - a bonus for kids. Hope everyone is enjoying it.

The snow will also stick through tomorrow and into Tuesday, so quite a few schools are likely to be closed tomorrow.

Up here in the Lake District - at least we have some nice snowy fells to look at.

Just saw a very strange sight in the snow. There was actually a live fly on top of it. It was completely still apart from one leg which was twitching.

We've got 4" of snow already, and judging by the radar, it's going to keep coming for hours and hours!!

I am restored!!! :D

Morning ch,

Yes pretty good ay.☺I am on hartshill side of Nuneaton and quite thick here too, pushing 11cms.

Good to see the forecasts come good. This sort of setup is the best for our region and it,s certainly. Delivering this time.

I hope everyone enjoys the snow, have a good and safe day all.❄❄❄

Thank God it's Sunday with all roads not good, public transport all over the shop, airports shut and even the M1 closed!!!  it would be a nightmare if this was a work day.

Yep, getting lighter here now, can't see this lasting all day. It's just another (not classic) but still Met-Office cock-up.

It has stopped here now. Off out for a walk and to take some pics.

Sun is out here with about 2cm around. Poor show for us. Birmingham/Solihull look battered though, all buses suspended.

MetOffice have played an absolute blinder. It's a warning area to be prepared, and many in that area have received exactly what the MetO predicted.

Well played to them.

No sign of a let up here in Shrewsbury! Looks like as the low moves away the more intense stuff over Wales is being dragged out way. We shall see.

Hi guys, been a long time! we have had a lot of snow here, still going now but significantly lighter and the snow is thawing, I can see it dropping off the bushes and some areas on paths etc are turning quite slushy. Seen the first couple of cars brave our road, not that I plan to at the moment as routes in and out of Stratford aren't great I hear. Not looking promising for a snow day for my teens tomorrow so they are not happy!
