Some pics of my home in Shropshire - it's throwing it down again now.  I'd say we have has about 8 inches but its at least a foot deep on my lawn ans surrounding fields.

17cm of level snow. That's more than Dec 2010 or Dec 1995 managed. It's certainly the most round here since Feb 1991, possibly 1987. 4 years without any significant snow ends like this.!

this mornings drive out or a small bit of it.

Just woke up and pulled the curtains aside expecting to be greeted by the colours of red brick and green grass, and what should greet my eyes but a dusting of snow. This is easily our most snowy period since March 2013, and we're only 1/6 of the way into this Winter.

This morning was a bit of a surprise, but the snow that fell was rock solid and sheets of ice on the road. Stoke was gridlocked again.I drove into the Moorlands and roads were white over but passable. Few inches up there. Even the gritter got stuck though!

I thought the snow was really easy to get around on this morning. Really crunchy and grippy. Some patches of ice too though.

I'm dreading the milder weather. I hate mild winter weather. It baffles me that so many prefer it. It's just horrid.

It's ok if it's cold and dry. Mild winter weather is normally wet though.

Always a big difference between my work and my home. A distance of 3 miles. Completely clear at work but quite a bit of snow and a lot of ice where I live. Absolute ice rink. Very dangerous.

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
